Introduction

The Program Dosen Wajib Mengabdi (PDWA) initiative has brought a revolution in English Language Education in Banjar Regency. Focused on increasing student participation and engagement in the learning process, this transformative project utilized cutting-edge AI technologies such as Lessonwriter, Chat GPT, Jamboard, Padlet, Wordwall, and Gimkit. Led by esteemed educators from the English Language Education Study Program of FKIP ULM, the PDWA initiative took place during three monthly sessions from July to August. This article delves into the profound impact of AI integration on English language teaching and learning in the MGMP classrooms of Banjar Regency.

The Enthusiastic Team

The PDWA project brought together a group of passionate educators from the English Language Education FKIP Lambung Mangkurat University. The esteemed team members included:

The Objective of PDWA

The primary objective of the PDWA initiative was to leverage AI technologies to revolutionize the English language teaching and learning process. By incorporating Lessonwriter, Chat GPT, Jamboard, Padlet, Wordwall, and Gimkit, the team aimed to foster active student engagement and enhance the overall learning experience in MGMP English classrooms throughout Kabupaten Banjar.

  1. Lessonwriter: Lessonwriter, an innovative AI platform, empowered teachers to create dynamic and interactive lesson plans tailored to the specific needs and interests of their students. This streamlined curriculum development and made learning more captivating.

  2. Chat GPT: Chat GPT, a language model AI, acted as a virtual teaching assistant, facilitating real-time interactions with students. It answered their queries, provided personalized feedback, and offered additional support beyond regular class hours.
